Kintsugi, also known as kintsukuroi, is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage a gold filling. Kintsugi literally means “to join with gold, and demonstrates that brokenness can create greater beauty and interest. In this pay-what-you-can class (donation suggestion: $20) facilitated by Sam Wolf students will begin a reflective and meditative journey in which they join together pieces of broken pottery to make a new creation. Kintsugi, also known as kintsukuroi, is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage a gold filling. Kintsugi literally means “to join with gold, and demonstrates that brokenness can create greater beauty and interest.
