Bachata
In this Pay-What-You Can workshop (Suggested Donation: $20) Jason Suav, Debrasha Greye, and Sarah Brister will teach participants posture, hand position, footwork, several turns, partner switches (cross body lead, etc), transitions to different positions and improvisation techniques. The level will be beginner, but continuing students will be challenged with additional moves when they are ready. No partner required to come. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR ADMISSION INTO MiSA.

Country Line Dancing
In this Pay-What-You Can workshop (Suggested Donation: $20) Jason Suav, Debrasha Greye, and Sarah Brister will teach participants choreography for several country line dancing songs. Some of the moves included are grapevine, shuffle step, basic turns, triple step, low kicks, toe/heel/stomp, etc. A level 2 class may be added in the future if enough participants are ready. No partner required to come. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR ADMISSION INTO MiSA.

Life Drawing
Figure Drawing, or Life Drawing is in-person drawing from models, usually nude, who may pose in a variety of postures during timed increments in a studio. Our teaching artist Sam Wolf will be teaching some basic techniques on how to draw from a live model within a variety of time constraints. This Pay-What-You Can class provides all supplies needed for the class. (Suggested Donation: $10) REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR ADMISSION INTO THE MAKERSPACE.

Oil Painting
In this pay-what-you-can class Christine Welman teaches artists new to oil painting how to get started using oil paints, while also providing a supportive atmosphere for more seasoned painters to practice and grow. (Suggested donation $15) REGISTRATION REQUIRED FOR ADMISSION.

The Ancient Art of Ebru
In this class, participants will be introduced to the traditional Turkish art of water marbling (ebru). We will explore its brief history, its connections to Turkish and Islamic arts, its underlying philosophy, and the materials and techniques that bring ebru to life. Our teaching artist Vesile Yilmaz will teach how to work with ceramic surfaces, including surface preparation and dipping techniques. Lino-cut Printmaking
Want to create an original design? Are you interested in learning to print with ink? In this pay-what-you-can class (suggested donation: $20) class, teaching artist Riley St Claire and Richard Johnson will be teaching some design development, carving techniques, and printing methods. Registration required to attend.

Hoop & Poi
Hula Hooping and Poi are fun and exciting blends of object manipulation, dance, and exercise. They are part of the Flow Arts that you can integrate into your own personal expression. You'll learn to use your body in a new way, set to music that will help you create your own style of movement. Learning the fundamentals in this workshop will help you develop strength, flexibility and coordination, which will allow you to take this art to any level you care to pursue. Free poi sets and Hoops provided for class use. Come join a workshop taught by Marilyn Besasie. REGISTRATION REQUIRED FOR ADMISSION.

Kintsugi
Kintsugi, also known as kintsukuroi, is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage a gold filling. Kintsugi literally means “to join with gold”, and demonstrates that brokenness can create greater beauty and interest. In this class pay-what-you-can class (suggestion donation: $20) facilitated by Sam Wolf students will begin a reflective and meditative journey in which they join together pieces of broken pottery to make a new creation. Students are required to bring their own broken pottery.

Ceramics: Slab Work & Sculpting
Slab work and sculpting is a pay-what-you-can class (suggested donation: $20) designed for those who would like to learn to use clay but don't know how. Our co-teaching artists Shampayne Sifuentes and Betul Dogan will focus on teaching to use a clay roller to create slabs and hand sculpting. REGISTRATION REQUIRED FOR ADMISSION.

Intro to Mosaics
This class introduces participants to the art of mosaic-making, blending creativity and functionality. Participants will design decorative coasters while learning essential techniques such as creating patterns, placing, and adhering glass mosaic tiles. Intro To Photography
In part one of this three part pay-what-you can class (donation suggestion: $20), our teaching artist Pat A. Robinson and students will travel around Milwaukee to learn how to take photos using a manual camera. CAMERAS ARE PROVIDED. Very limited spots available.
